Heineken Opener Weekend Festival which will take place from today until the 7th July 2012 in Poland will be the first Polish event to be transmitted live on an online platform – following in the footsteps of Coachella, Bonnaroo, Primavera and Sonar Festival. Live streaming of performances from the likes of New Order, Bloc Party, Orbital and more will be streamed on Youtube as of 5pm CET tonight. The channel will also include exclusive festival footage from the festival, allowing those not there to experience things virtually.

The festival’s promoter MIKOŁAJ ZIÓŁKOWSKI says:
‘Heineken Opener is an experienced festival with audiences from all over Europe. We are very happy that this year’s edition and performances from great artists like Bloc Part, New Order or Pendekrecki/Greenwood will be available for audiences worldwide thanks to Youtube. Using the best practices of international events, we would like to introduce these solutions in Poland.’
