The festival which falls under Phestival’s spotlight in the office today is Loopallu 2012. Admittedly, I’d not heard of this festival until earlier this morning but have since had a rummage through their website and must say, it looks rather lovely as a small community festival. They tend to showcase a line-up of well known festival favours as well as Scottish acts – taking pride in their local community. This year’s festival will take place on Friday 21st and Sunday 22nd September at Ullapool in Scotland.
They’ve just announced some of their line up which includes The Fratellis making their first festival appearance since they announced their reformation, as well as Jake Bugg who seems to be absolutely everywhere at the moment. Beyond these two, there will also be performances from The Dangleberries, LilyGreen & Maguire, as well as Manran.
The festival’s organiser Robert Hicks is said to be delighted by the fact that ‘The Fratellis have chosen to make their festival comeback at Loopallu since reforming recently. With a back catalogue of hits like theirs, I challenge anyone not to jump around. I can’t wait.’
The 2500 capacity festival, which will be in its eighth year this summer has yet to announce their headliners, so watch this space for further information. Fancy tickets? Click here.
Until then, have a couple of videos as a taster of what’s to come:
