Festival Weekends aplenty, and with a few going on every week this summer we’re constantly kept busy researching what’s going on in the UK. This coming weekend, we’ve got a weekend off from being on a festival site but are itching to get back to it! Instead, we’re looking at what’s on this weekend to keep us occupied until then: 

Relentless Boardmasters (Newquay) -

Relentless Boardmasters is a festival unlike any other – it combines live musical performances with Surfing, Skating, and BMX competitions to showcase an array of high energy performances from an array of talents. This year’s festival takes place from 8th-12rh August in tourist-favourite Newquay. The line up this year includes Ed Sheeran, Dizzee Rascal, Maximo Park, DJ Fresh (Live), Zane Lowe, Maverick Sabre and more. If you’d like to go – be quick in grabbing your tickets because they’re due to sell out quickly! There’s still a limited number left, and you can grab yours here.

Strawberry Fields Festival (Leicestershire) -

Strawberry Fields Festival is a must for anyone who loves a bit of Liverpool, or The Beatles. This absolutely adorable festival based in the heart of the National Forest is sure to capture the hearts of music and camping lovers alike in its rural setting. This year’s festival will take place from 10-12th August 2012 and will feature performances from The Charlatons, Labrinth, Jaguar Skills, The Young Knives, Friction, The Cuban Bothers and many more. There will also be a vintage fair, a fun fair, the Strawberry Fields boat and luxury camping on offer.

Boomtown Fair (Bristol) -

Boomtown Fair is a festival which prides itself on keeping the location secret until just 10 days before the event. This year, the even will be held at Matterley Estate (Bristol) and will be expanding in size with its new location. Their will be new ‘streets’ and ‘venues’ created, heightening the excitement for this festival’s arrival. Confirmed for the four day event so far are Reel Big Fish, Asian Dub Foundation and Kill the Noise. The festival also offers plentiful entertainment in the way of theatre, comedy, and art. If you’re looking for something a bit different this weekend, then Boom Town Fair would definitely be up your street.

Bloodstock Open Air Festival (Walton-Upon-Trent) - 

Bloodstock Open Air is for those who prefer something a little heavier. The annual heavy metal festival is held annually at Catton Hall (Walton-Upon-Trent) and will take place from 9th-12th August 2012. The festival will see the likes of Machine Head, Alice Cooper, Paradise Lost, Sepultura and Sweet Savage take to the stage across the weekend. The festival was moved to accommodate for the Olympics, too. If you fancy attending Bloodstock you’ll have to be relatively quick – Campervan passes and VIP passes have already sold out, with day tickets and standard weekend tickets left in limited quantities.
