The artist also cancels Bestival and other European shows.

Singer Frank Ocean has announced his cancellation of all summer appearances, including his performances at the twin V Festivals next weekend on Saturday 18th to Sunday 19th August. The American singer/songwriter from New Orleans was set to play a number of huge gigs over the next few weeks – beyond V festival, including Bestival, Rock en Seine (France) and Pukkelpop (Belgium.) Beyond the festival circuit, he was also scheduled to support the European stretch of the ongoing Coldplay tour at the end of the month.

Ocean released the following statement as an apology:

Let me start by saying I feel like an a**hole right now, but a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next few monthsThe casualties of that decision include my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot on the European leg of the Coldplay world tour. Sorry as f**k,  but I’ll be back if you have me.”

Cancellation is a real shame – especially when you consider the recent release of his incredible solo album, Channel Orange. Despite this, the events he has cancelled at still include a host of incredible artists – to look at the bright side there are many acts who will be able to at least try and fill the void. For V Festival this includes the likes of The Stone Roses, The Killers, and Snow Patrol, who have all been announced as headliners for the festival’s main stages.
